The Arts and Popular Traditions Museum has been created back in 1989. It is sheltered in an former farm of a traditional squared yard shape or « Cense ». The Museum hosts a large collection of household objects
from the 19th century. They are gathered in detailled playlets describing the dialy life at home (the Bedroom, the Kitchen, …), at work (The Dairy, the Cobbler, the Printer, the Butcher, the Watchmaker, theTailor, …) or during playtime (Playing music, Javelin, Archery, « Bourle », Spinning Top, and Metal Discs) of a rural population (Shepard Shelter, Agricultural machines and tools), but also from the industrial era (Spinning Mill, and Textile Factory).The Museum regularly organizes temporary exhibitions (Irons, Bells, Music Society, …),and cultural events (The Museum Fair in May, The Music Fair – « Fête de la Musique » – in June, The Heritage Days – « Journées du Patrimoine » – in September).

Dit Museum verhaalt het dagelijkse leven van de voorbije generaties (1850-1950). U treft hier reconstructies van een weefatelier, een kroegje, een klaslokaal…en u ontdekt tal van voorwerpen die uit het hedendaagse, moderne leven verdwenen zijn, zoals een karnton, een melkteil,…Van april tot september, van dinsdag tot zaterdag van 9u tot 12u en van 14u tot 18u, op zondag van 10u30 tot 12u30 en van 15u tot 18u.
Van oktober tot maart, van dinsdag tot zaterdag van 9u tot 12u en van 14u tot 18u, op zondag van 15u tot 18u. Gesloten op maandag. Gratis toegang.

Das Museum von Wattrelos wurde in einem alten Bauernhof errichtet. Dieser wurde zwischen 1890 une 1894 erbaut, in der traditionellen Bauweise, die in der Picardie auch „Bauernhaus mit quadratischem Hof“ gennant wird.
Charakteristisch fûr diese Bauweise ist die Stellung der Gebäude : sie sind an jeder Hofseite plaziert une untereinander verbunden.
Des Bauernhof wurde von der Gemeinde in den 1970er Jahren gekauft.
Seit März 1989 beherbergen die Gebäude des Heimats.
In Mai 1993 wurde der Öffenlichkeit in der vôllig Wiederhergestellten Scheune ein weiterer Teil des Bauernhauses zugänglich gemarcht, wobei der Umriss des Bauwerks beibehalten wurde.
Charakteristisch fûr diese Bauweise ist die Stellung der Gebäude : sie sind an jeder Hofseite plaziert une untereinander verbunden.
Des Bauernhof wurde von der Gemeinde in den 1970er Jahren gekauft.

Il museo di Wattrelos é stato creato in una vecchia fattoria costruita tra il 1890 ed il 1894 seguendo il piano tradizionale delle fattorie o “supposto” picarde anche chiamati fattorie a “corte quadrata”.
La carratteristica di questa costruzione fa che gli edifici sono disposti su ogni lato e rilegati tra essi.
Questa fattoria é stata comprata dal comune negli anni ’70 e questi edifici abritano il Museo degli Arti e delle Tradizioni Popolari dal marzo 1989.
Nel maggio 1993 una nuova parte fu aperta al pubblico , nel fienile che é stato rifatto totalmente. Tuttavia il volume della costruzione é stato preservato.
La carratteristica di questa costruzione fa che gli edifici sono disposti su ogni lato e rilegati tra essi.
Questa fattoria é stata comprata dal comune negli anni ’70 e questi edifici abritano il Museo degli Arti e delle Tradizioni Popolari dal marzo 1989.

Muzeum w Wattrelos, otwarte w marcu 1989 roku, przez pana Alaina Faugareta, Mera Wattrelos, zostalo utworzone na pozoslosciach dawnego gospodarstwa odkupionego przez Wladze Miejskie w 1970 roku (data zakonczenia dzialalnosci przez gospodarzy tj. Pana i pania Dubrulle). To gospodarstwo rolne powstalo w latach 1890 i 1894. Budynek mieszkalny, stajnie oraz przyleglosci (przybudowki) maja wiec ponad 100 lat. Dawna stodola zostala odrestaurowana i urzadzona tak, aby powiekszala muzeum. Jest otwarta dla publicznosci od maja 1993 roku.
